For twenty years I have been an Auckland based, full time artist. I am an actor, improviser, writer, poet, comedian, voice over artist, social commentator and since 2012, a celebrant. I have toured my shows to the Edinburgh Festival, all over Canada and the UK, Ireland, Australia, Singapore, USA and Singapore. I have performed over 700 solo shows and have performed in nearly every corner of New Zealand from Taipa Bay to Stewart Island. OH except Timaru. Come on Timaru!
I feature on TVNZ's Breakfast Club, on Radio NZ's the Panel and various Newstalk panels. I was the host of Kiwi Gold on Heartland, and North and South Myspace and debuted on What Now aged 8. I run the WOMAD Poetry Slam and numerous others around the country and am Captain Pinky who steers the ship in Captain Pinky's Pirate Toddler Boogie. My solo show Olive Copperbottom: A Dickensian Tale of Love, Gin and the Pox recently won Best Indoor Show at the World Buskers Festival in Christchurch, and Promise and Promiscuity: A New Musical by Jane Austen and Penny Ashton has seen me ponce in a bonnet all over the show.
Ever since I pulled on my first tutu aged 4, and practised my jazz hands in a mirror, I have had a passion for entertaining people. I love to make people laugh but to also celebrate what makes everyone, and their relationships, unique. My performance skills combined with this love of entertaining and my poet's use of language and storytelling, mean I am in a great position to marry you in a fun and moving way.
My life revolves around love and laughter. And that's a pretty bloody marvellous place to be.
